Zoe Wallace was criticized on TikTok after posting about her daughter Parker, who has Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Ms. Wallace described how Parker was hospitalized just a few weeks old and needed breathing aids.
In the video posted on TikTok, Ms. Wallace, 25 and from Wigan, detailed: “When my daughter was five weeks old, we decided to give her her first overnight stay.
“She stayed with my mother and apart from being a little away from eating, she was fine.”
Parker, now four months old, was diagnosed with severe breast infection and prescribed antibiotics.
However, RSV is often associated with breathing problems that lead to more serious conditions like pneumonia or potentially life-threatening bronchiolitis.

“It made her very bad and I didn’t realize how serious it can be with newborns. I didn’t even hear about it until she was bad and I wanted to make other mothers aware of the signs.”
She added, “I mentioned that she stayed with my mother the night before she fell ill to show how quickly she turned down, but it wasn’t received that way.
“People in the comments branded me a bad mom because of my decision to have my child overnight.
“Personally, it’s pretty normal for new mothers to get support from family members anyway, but I didn’t know it would be so controversial online. “This time I just thought, if people are willing to help, I’ll accept it.”
She concluded, “I’ll keep doing this because at the end of the day it’s my choice – my kids are fine and my kids are fine. They love spending time with my mom and what other people think won’t be change.” , or change what I post. “
