Ryanair announces ten new routes from Manchester Airport

Ryanair has announced ten new routes from Manchester Airport for 2021 – with the airline anticipating a “strong recovery” in UK air traffic.

The Irish airline announced its summer and winter recovery plan for 2021 on Wednesday, saying that new destinations from the city of Bucharest will include Santorini, Verona and Zagreb.

Speaking to MEN, Commercial Director Jason McGuinness said the company will “deliver recovery and growth” to Manchester despite the challenges of the pandemic.

He added that the airline is “reestablishing connectivity for Manchester – and restoring UK traffic” while vaccinations continue across Europe.

He said: “Following the successful vaccination programs, UK air traffic under the guidance of Ryanair will see a strong recovery in the summer of 2021 and we are pleased to announce our recovery plan for Manchester which will serve 5.1 million passengers per year on 67 routes, including new ones Airlines transports summer and winter routes to exciting destinations Santorini, Paphos, Zagreb and Verona.

“English families / visitors can now book a well-deserved summer vacation knowing that if their plans change, they can postpone their travel dates until the end of December 2021 with no change fee.”

For Manchester, two weekly flights to Santorini in Greece, Knock in Ireland and Verona in Italy and three to Bucharest in Romania will be offered on the new summer routes.

The winter flight schedule 2021 provides for flights twice a week to Kaunas, Paphos in Cyprus, Poznan in Poland, Suceava in Romania, Zagreb in Croatia and a weekly flight to Salzburg in Austria.

The company also announced ten new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA). The new summer flight schedule provides for four weekly flights to Rome; plus two to Košice in Slovakia, Kaunas in Lithuania and Zadar in Croatia. There will also be a new weekly flight to the Greek island of Kos.

JLA’s new winter routes will fly twice a week to Stockholm Arlanda in Sweden, Milan Bergamo in Italy, Paris Beauvais, Sibiu in Romania and Tallin in Estonia.

Mr McGuinness said the two North West airports are vital to the airline’s future – and that more similar announcements can be expected in the years to come.

He added that in celebration of the launch, Ryanair will be putting seats on sale from £ 19.99 through the end of October.
