Manchester United face increasing injury problems ahead of the Europa League final after Scott McTominay and Fred were injured in the Fulham draw.

McTominay walked down the tunnel after being sent off after 62 minutes and United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Fred – who completed 90 minutes – was injured.

Solskjaer also admitted Harry Maguire’s chance to recover for the final “doesn’t look good” while Anthony Martial – allegedly because of an appearance against Fulham – failed the bench.

“That was the team selection at the end of the season,” said Solskjaer. “Players take minutes, some players need rest and relaxation. We’ve had some players who injured Scott and Fred so I’ll see how they are doing.

“Unfortunately Scott had to jump off and Fred doesn’t look good while he’s running now, but we have eight days so hopefully all that were available today will be available.

“Harry: We’re working on it, but we’re not looking good. Anthony: We still have a little bit of hope. We hope.

“He’s working really hard and we hope he’s available for the final. He was very excited so I can’t say he’s not suitable for the final, but of course he hasn’t been around for a long time. Me I’m still hopeful. “

Henderson had started seven straight league games until De Gea replaced him for the Leicester defeat last week and the England international had a mistake-prone night in the 4-2 second leg against Liverpool.

Solskjaer’s selection at Molineux has an impact on his selection against Villarreal as there is still one game left at Wolves before the Europa League final next Wednesday.

“Didn’t he play Leicester?” Solskjaer said when a reporter suggested De Gea hadn’t played in the league lately. “I think you’re wrong?

“I have two very good goalkeepers. They have played more or less alternative games for the last month and for the last six weeks. Both are ready and both are doing well.

“The game in Leicester, although it didn’t feel like a Premier League game that was full on a Tuesday, he (De Gea) played that game anyway.”
