Liz Taylor, CEO of Manchester-based event planner Taylor Lynn Corporation, made the most of her unexpected time during the 2020 lockdowns live event hiatus. Liz has developed a consultancy providing business development for the hospitality industry. The company secured over £ 150,000 worth of business in year one and plans to double that in year two.
In parallel with her successful events firm, which also announced a £ 1.5 million increase in new events business earlier this month, Liz provides branding advice to hotels, restaurants, venues, catering and hospitality operators. The client portfolio includes a mix of independent and branded companies including Hotel Football and GG Hospitality’s Stock Exchange Hotel, owned by soccer players Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, Victor’s Restaurants, Tom Kerridges Bull and Bear, Lone Star Boutique Hotel & Suites – Barbados and Feast Kosher Catering.
Success also means diversification, as Liz Taylor explains: “The idea of consulting was born in 2018, but the business was certainly born idle. My love work!
“I had time and wanted to stay positive and focused. That is why I have invested my energy in fully establishing the company. With 35 years of experience as a luxury event planner and my work in the hospitality industry, I was able to provide a unique insight into how a venue or hotel company can develop new sales ideas to appeal to the discerning buyer. Fortunately, customers were excited about the concept and business picked up speed.
“So much so that I was asked to expand my services to support luxury retail brands, fashion companies, and financial companies like my client Broadway Insurance Brokers.”
Liz added, “While it’s been a challenging time for me to start a new business, it has been a huge focus for me and has enabled me to stay positive and productive. I am optimistic that we will continue to grow between 2021 and 22 when the events and hospitality sector re-emerges. “
Liz Taylor Consultancy also brings together the entrepreneur’s independent business projects, such as the launch of her successful podcast “Events That Made Me”, which is included in Apple’s Top 10 Business Podcasts. The company also manages Liz Taylor’s roles as motivational speaker, media commentator, and later that year as the start of her first book. Visit: www.liz-taylor-consulting.co.uk
