UNITED KINGDOM. Manchester Airport has announced that more retail and hospitality operations will be opening in its redesigned Terminal 2 this week. On Wednesday M&S will open its new Simply Food Store in the arrivals area and Accessorize will open its doors in the departure area on Thursday.
The airport said more F&B concepts will open up as more airlines move over from other terminals and passenger numbers increase, including Pot Kettle Black, Apiary, San Carlo, Wrapchic and Starbucks.

As reported, new retail and dining outlets have opened in what Manchester calls the “Superterminal”, including host city brands Archie’s and Amber Alehouse (both in partnership with Se7en Brothers), as well as popular high street names like Pret -a -Manger and Costa coffee.
With Escape and 1903, two airport lounges were also opened in Terminal 2. The lounges have a total capacity of 400 passengers and are located on the upper level of the expanded terminal. They are accessible from the main departure lounge and both have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views over the airfield.
The airport has also announced that the next airlines to move into Terminal 2 will be Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and Brussels Airlines (July 20th), followed by airBaltic (July 21st) and Ethiopian Airlines (July 22nd) . They are following in the footsteps of Jet2.com, TUI and Singapore Airlines, which started operations in T2 last week.
Karen Smart, Managing Director of Manchester Airport said: “Last week was such a big and poignant milestone in the 83 year history of Manchester Airport when we opened our new Terminal 2 extension.
“As the government continues to cautiously lift international travel restrictions and give double vaccinated passengers more freedom, it is great to see more of our airline partners resume their services, increase frequencies and move to their new home in Terminal 2.
“The opening of the new terminal will not only help our COVID-19 recovery as passenger demand will hopefully increase as more countries are greenlisted, but it will also provide our customers with the best experience when they are on vacation to fly.
“We know a lot of people have long since stopped flying due to the pandemic, but I want to reassure all of our customers as we continue to implement the highest quality COVID-19 security measures at Manchester Airport.”
